The Camp of the Dun Bear Cub

Every summer, nearby Osada Burego Misia, takes place our greatest holiday, the camp. It is a celebration of our opportunity to meet, so long awaited. Over 250 Bure Misie and the same amount of Bure Niedzwiedzie take part in the celebration. Each period is attended by these sub-camps, each of which appoints their respective cadres and executes separate plans.
The flagship aim of the camp is getting to know each other, learning the co-operation and mutual respect, developing the friendship between Bury Mi and Bury Niedzwiedz, which would last long time after the camp has come to the end. We also try to achieve the camp other, previously set goals, such as:
- Tightening of the community bonds
- Concern about the individuality of every Bury Mis
- Spreading of Gospel
- Shaping of sensitivity and his sense of aesthetics (plastic classes, his contact with nature)
- Opportunity for Bury Mis to rest
- Developing of sense of responsibility as for as Bury Niedzwiedz are concerned
- Forging of friendship between Bury Niedzwiedz
- Provide time to rest for the parents of Bury Mis
Timetable
- 8:30 breakfast
- 10:00 The Holy Mess
- 11:30 - 13:30 morning activities
- 14:00 dinner
- 15:00 - 18:30 afternoon activities (execution of a specific daily plan)
- 19:00 supper
- 19:45 - 20:45 evening activities

The morning classes are led in four distinct workshop groups and are chosen according to each Bury Mis's individual interests, e.g. plastic arts classes (include painting, drawing, and clay or plasticize modeling etc.); music classes (consist in learning how to sing and dance); sports classes (include group and competitive sports such as soccer, basketball, British bulldog, and activities within scope of aerobic and walking as well); theatre classes (are realization of a simple play but involve mastering of the script and preparation of costumes).
In addition, Bury Mis are entitled to take part to take part in hypnotherapy classes. There is also our post office working at the campsite, a bank (Euro Mis, used to be this year valid currency), a cafe and a restaurant. Other ways of spending free time available to Bury Mis range from bath in the lake under lifeguard's surveillance to various trips and hikes.
Afternoon classes are different for each sub-camp executing its own plan. The camp itself and contact with others in general joyful and safe holiday for Bury Mis. Apart from that, it includes positive religious and spiritual values, develops favorable habits and attitudes, teaches how to be independent, and makes the imagination of the Bure Misie more valid and their way of thinking more creative.
The camp is also an opportunity for the parents of the disabled children to take rest from they day to day. On the other hand for Bure Misie means the opportunity of joyful experiences shared with their friends just the same as their healthy peers have.
