"I wrote that I must find some place for Bury Mis because one day he would come to me and say: Kuba, my mom died, my dad died, I am here alone and you said that you are my friend so I am going to stay with you". And that is why Osada came into being; to provide home, shelter and care for those of our friends who have lost their relatives. But when talking about Osada we mean Bure Misie (currently there is 14 of them there) and Bure Niedzwiedzie (7 persons). The Shelters do not treat Osada as the centre their permanent stay, but they see in it their real home, a place full of love and warmth, where they can feel not only safe, accepted, but also needed.
Each Bury Mis is in charge of animals (there is plenty of them here: goats, sheep, ostriches, horses, birds and dogs), each of them works in garden and fulfils a number of house duties: work with animals proves to be an excellent therapy for disabled people giving them sense of independence and great satisfaction.
Bure Niedzwiedzie living at Osada have developed very efficient methods of working with Bure Misie, results of which happen to astonish even well qualified specialist. It is so because the priority rakes in it all their actions are the Friendship.
Apart from that Osada Burego Misia is the place where all members of Wspolnota Burego Misia have opportunity to meet. There recollections, trainings for camp cadres assemblies (Parents and Bure Niedzwiedzie), all who have been appointed to local board of supervision and Found Council are held (called Kapitula). Kapitula holds responsibility for meeting the obligation of friendship they decide what must be done for Bure Misie to satisfy they needs.
All who happened to visit Osada seem to be spellbound by its unique atmosphere. They describe it as: magical, beautiful, special...it is because the place they talk about has been built with love and hard work of many people. |
