Kuba or Czeslaw? We wish to explode the doubts once for all. Father Czeslaw Marchewicz CR, called Kuba. Founder of Wspolnota Burego Misia, organiser of camps.
In his interview to the communal monthly "Szuflada", he says: "I knew I had to build a house. But it was not building of Wspólnota or an institution just because I had such idea, but because I had friends (...). You can betray everything, but you can't betray friendship".
Kuba was born in Koscierzyna. In 1978 he joined the Ressurection Priest novitiate and in 1985 he received his holy orders. He started priesthood in Bytom, then in Lord's Ressurection parish in Poznan.
Earlier in Cracow when being a student, he made friends with a disabled boy, Peter, and prepared him to hic First Holy Communion. Then he met other disabled and decided to prepare them as well. In 1984 with the help of scants and students he organized first camp.
In 1987 he bought a small farm in Nowy Klincz, which gave start to Osada Burego Misia, and after that - Fundacja Burego Misia.
Since 1992 father Kuba has been living and working at the Osada, providing daily care to 14 Bure Misie.
In 1990 he was honored by Towarzystwo Przyjaciol Dzieci, in 1996 he became bachelor of The Order of Smile and in 2002 he was awarded membership and scholarship by Ashoka (organization which searches out and supports outstanding individuals, the foremost, leaders of social changes all over the world).
From his experience derive people and institutions running similar activities within country and abroad.
